Info on #FYFchat
Hi everyone. Our twitter chat is now going to be held once a month, on the third Wednesday of each month. Next chat: 16th November. Topic: TBA (please do tweet us in advance if you have any good ideas for chat topics)
Twitter! Everyone knows it, most use it, and now we’re chatting on it. For those not in the know, Twitter Chats are scheduled discussions occurring on Twitter using a specific hashtag to group tweets into a conversation. The hashtag for our chat is titled #FYFchat.

During an FYFchat, we will cover a range of topics that are important to FlexYourFood’s mission. We will continue to discuss and learn about everything from environmental issues to health concerns and factory farming to meal planning. We will choose a specific topic for each week’s discussion. The chat will last one hour with relevant questions being asked by FYF every 15 or so minutes to keep the conversation fresh. Questions will begin with “Q1″, “Q2″, etc. To answer them, use the relevant “A1″, “A2″, etc. Of course we welcome any topic or question suggestions, just tweet them to us at least a day before the chat.
There are a couple of different ways to join in on the FYFchat, listed in order of convenience.
- Via a Twitter application (we like twebevent): Go to http://twebevent.com/FlexYourFood at the specified time. Sign in with your Twitter account and you’re ready to join the conversation. Twebevent auto-filters Twitter to show only our chat in real time, meaning no distracting clutter. No need to include #FYFchat in tweets; it’s added automatically!
- Via a Twitter client (TweetDeck, Hootsuite, etc.): At the designated chat time, simply filter a stream using #FYFchat. You will now be able to see the whole conversation in real time. Remember to end every tweet with #FYFchat.
- Twitter: At the specified time, search for our hashtag #FYFchat. You will need to constantly refresh your webpage so the newest tweets are visible. Finally, be sure to end every post with #FYFchat.
The goal of this chat is to create an open platform for anyone who would like to know more about these topics. We greatly value your input and are as excited to learn as you are! See you there on Wednesday September 7.
